hey guys, sorry if this is an inappropriate place to put a shout out, but i don’t know where else to go!
i’m a singaporean student and i recently returned from U.K. i noticed a heckload of fixies there! my canondale moutain bike is about 8 years old and the gears are rusted out, the wheels are totally BENT (because of riding on flat tires). i know SHIT about riding bicycles, i just pedal my ass off.I was thinking of getting a new bike, maybe a fixie because it seems much easier to maintain. can someone please hit me up on MSN or point me to some places where i can read up and learn more? thanks!

Just got a fixie conversion from TR, and loving it!
Heard about this site from various people around Singapore (every bike shop I go seem to have someone who knows about “the haji lane fixie group” xD).

Yo A! We usually ride on Friday evenings and sometimes on Saturdays. Do head on down to Haji Lane this Friday. Another ride is happening.

There’s a ride going on this Friday. Usually we meet up around 7 or 8 at 34, Haji Lane. You can’t miss us cos usually there’d be some 20+ riders.

Hey guys, i’m a beginner mountain biker on a low end hardtail mtb. I kitted out my bicycle for offroading which i do rarely since i can hardly find the time and people to ride with and i don’t dare ride alone on the trails since breaking my arm in march.
Am seriously considering a single speed bicycle, nothing expensive, something i can have a lot of fun on. Where do you think i can go to get cheap frames that are good for single speeds? Branded not important, just want one that won’t rust easily. Advice?

i understand that only monotine ships in SE and fuji. contacted them but they dont stock up on frames and cant order because of minimum quantity requiremnt in order.

hey hi guys, im currently getting my first fixed gear bike so will like your suggestion on either of these models. im thinking of getting either the airwalk airtrack or the airwalk CMX but was told that the CMX is more of a trick bike so kinda tiring to do mileage. but im keen on learning tricks so would oso like to know whether normal fixed gear like the airtrack could do tricks like bunny hop or stuffs. and whether trick bikes are more tiring in doing long distances.

It’s a matter of preference really. And it’s more of a rider’s endurance than the make of the bike, really. What do you plan to do with the bike anyways?

Hi CAS. I’m a fixie rider myself but haven’t really join you guys for rides. I was wondering, do any of you guys ride to JB? If so, do you hand carry by public transport or use the roads and get your passports stamped at checkpoints using the motor lanes? Thanks!
