Last Saturday 12 December saw Singapore’s fixed gear community from all walks of life coming together for the first time (including 2 riders from KL, Malaysia) for a one day tour held by the good people from Sup Clothing and Crank Arm Steady after months of planning and route recce. The Tour Of Singapore is in no way a race of any sort but instead to promote awareness about the fixed gear culture and also for fellow fixed gear riders nationwide to ride together while making new acquaintances.

The route started from Clarke Quay all the way up anti-clockwise 120km around Singapore coastline which took about 10 hours with some pitstops in between proved to be too vigorous for some while the rest standing till the very end (read: the only female rider, Kat from PEONFX), I salute you for your participation, motivation and strength to make this very first Tour Of Singapore on fixed gear a success.

On behalf of all I would like to thank the sponsors (BKFlesh ImpGee Hin ChanNew BalanceNike SportswearNook Mag,PEONFXTR Bikes) who has been very supportive and blessed us from beverages to gears and tools and to those who did not make it to the end *cough*, train harder for next year.

Thank you to everyone that involved in Tour Of Singapore. Due to an overwhelming response, we might have another Tour Of Singapore 2010. No promises.

As what Idris has mentioned, no promises tho hopefully TOS ’10 might be more interesting than the current. We’ll see how it goes.
